Softball Earns Two More Crucial Victories At Dominican

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (11-19, 10-10 CACC) picked up another two key conference victories on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader at Dominican.

GAME ONE – W, 5-3
Both teams tallied a run in the opening inning. Sam Gomez recorded an RBI single for the Rams and the Chargers hit a solo homer. Jefferson went ahead again in the fourth on an RBI base hit by Victoria Juckniewitz. Dominican went in front with a pair of runs in the fifth. The Chargers registered their second home run of the day and scored on an error.

Down to their last at-bat in the seventh, the Rams rallied for three runs to go ahead 5-3. Juckniewitz started the frame with a single. Winnai Hoyt was hit by a pitch and Julia Heine hit an infield single to load the bases. Gomez followed with a two-run, go-ahead single through the right side. Jefferson was able to load them up again and Sage Bolonski drew a walk to bring in an insurance run. Gianna DeLorenzo retired the Chargers in order in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win.
