EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (1-5) suffered a pair of setbacks at East Stroudsburg on Tuesday afternoon.
GAME ONE – L, 8-1
It took until the fourth inning for the bats to get going on either side. The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the top of the frame on a home run by
Winnai Hoyt but the Warriors countered with a three-run shot in the bottom of the inning to go in front.
ESU increased its cushion to seven (8-1) with a five-run fifth, all of them unearned. The Warriors benefitted from an error then recorded a two-run double, an RBI single, and another run-scoring double. Jefferson was able to get just one runner aboard from the fifth inning on.

GAME TWO – L, 7-0
The Warriors got their first run in the third via a sacrifice fly. They added four in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk followed by a three-run triple. ESU added RBI singles in the fifth and sixth. The Rams struggled offensively, registering just two baserunners and tallying their only hit at the start of the seventh inning.
