PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (1-0) conceded its fewest points in over four decades in a 60-18 rout of Molloy (0-1) in the season opener on Saturday at the Gallagher Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams tallied the first 14 points of the game and nearly pitched a shutout in the opening quarter before the Lions scored a layup with 31 seconds left. Jefferson led 19-4 in the second and went on a 9-0 run to up the margin to 24 (28-4). That was the difference at halftime as well with the Rams ahead 32-8.
 
Jefferson continued its strong play in the third, outscoring Molloy by an 18-4 count to take a 50-12 advantage into the fourth quarter. The Rams' shooting was off the mark in the final period, as they went just 2-for-11 from the field and scored 10 points.
