SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis team (2-1) was edged by host St. Thomas Aquinas, 4-3, on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans captured third doubles to begin the match then the team of
Hannibal Borg and
Odissey Kavak won at second doubles to even things up for the Rams. The host had a 6-2 win in the top flight to claim the doubles point.
STAC took a 2-0 lead with a win at fourth singles.
Enrique Soto Ballester got Jefferson on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at the third position.
Mario Antonio was the victor at first singles (6-3, 6-2) to even the match at two.
Hannibal Borg then gave the Rams the advantage with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at second singles. However, the Spartans came back to take fifth and sixth singles for the narrow win.
