PHILADELPHIA – On Tuesday, the Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis team accomplished a feat it had not done in nine years – defeat Chestnut Hill. The Rams grounded the Griffins, 4-3, for their first victory over the perennial CACC contender since April 21, 2012.
After earning the doubles point, Jefferson increased its lead to 2-0 after a default at sixth singles. CHC picked up victories at first and third singles to tie the match at two.
Hannibal Borg gave the Rams the lead again with a come-from-behind, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 triumph at second singles.
Joao Pedro Molina Marcal then clinched the match for Jefferson with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at fifth singles.
The Rams are 2-2 on the year with a 1-2 conference record.
