WATERBURY, Conn. - The eighth-seeded Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team had its season come to an end with a 2-0 loss at top-seeded Post in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Rams finished the campaign with a 6-9-2 record.
 
GAMEPLAY
The teams played to a stalemate in the first half as opportunities were limited on both sides. The two squads combined for just four shots over the opening 45 minutes. The Eagles nearly went ahead in the fifth minute when they rang a shot off the post. Matteo Crescente stopped a Post chance in the 37^th minute, the only other shot on target during the period.
 
In the second, the Eagles finally broke through in the 63^rd minute, converting off of a corner kick. Trailing 1-0, the Rams' situation became more dire after two red cards in the 73^rd minute put them at a two-man disadvantage for the rest of the contest. Post needed just four minutes to capitalize, finding the back of the cage after a centering pass for a 2-0 lead. Jefferson managed one shot over the last 13 minutes but it was turned away by the goalkeeper.
