PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (3-7-2) dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Mercy in non-conference action on Tuesday.
 
GAMEPLAY
The Rams started well, recording six shots in the opening 12 minutes. Jefferson missed two opportunities high, three were stopped by the goalkeeper, and one was blocked by the defense. The Mavericks had their first chance on goal saved by Rams' goalie Matteo Crescente in the 28^th minute. The Rams added five shots over the last 17 minutes, but could not break through, and the teams were scoreless at intermission.
 
Mercy netted the lone tally of the game just 4:54 into the second period. The Mavericks converted a shot from 25 yards just inside the right post. Jefferson registered five shots and four corner kicks in the frame but could not find the equalizer.
