Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis suffered a 9-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss to sixth-ranked Concordia (NY.) in the Meyers Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.
Philadelphia is now 9-8 overall and 3-2 in the CACC, while Concordia goes to 11-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Clippers became the first team to clinch a spot in the CACC Tournament.
The Rams' top duo of Nicolas Affolter (Freienbach, Switzerland/Kantonsschule Ausserschwz) and Celso de Vera Rehberger (Oviedo, Spain/Santa Maria del Naranco) pushed the Clippers' No. 1 tandem of Jui Mao and Ofir Ginat to the limit, but Concordia earned an 8-6 decision. It was the closest Philadelphia came to breaking the Concordia shutout.
Philadelphia hosts Kutztown in a non-conference match on Thursday, April 9 at 3:30 p.m. on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts. Prior to the start of the match, the Rams will honor their three seniors: Matt Germani, Nail Rachidi, and Long Vo.
