PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was defeated by visiting Kutztown 7-2 in a non-conference match played on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts on Monday.

Prior to the match, the Rams honored seniors Matthew Germani (Blackwood, N.J./Highland), Nail Rachidi (Meknes, Morocco/Emile Anouar), and Long Vo (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area).

Philadelphia (10-10) earned its two points during the doubles portion of the match. The No. 1 duo of Celso de Vera Rehberger (Oviedo, Spain/Santa Maria del Naranco) and Nicolas Affolter (Freienbach, Switzerland/Kantonsschule Ausserschwz) knocked off Rich Lictenwalner and Matt Maguire. In No. 3 doubles, James Pollard (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) and Rachidi teamed up to earn an 8-4 triumph against Gabriel Nogara Souza and Indi Reverte.

Kutztown is now 11-3 overall.

Philadelphia concludes the regular season with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m.
