Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was upended 1-0 by visiting Molloy on an 81st-minute goal Thursday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.

The Lions' (4-3-2) Amanda Milazzo broke the scoreless deadlock at the 80:34 mark with a perfectly struck ball from 35-yards away. Milazzo floated her shot into the upper left corner of the net, just out of the reach of Philadelphia keeper Courtney Shaw.

Philadelphia (4-6-0) owned an 11-6 shot advantage during the match, but was unable to put together a threat at the Molloy goal over the final 9:26. The Rams had a pair of corner kicks, one at 63:20 and the other at 64:58, but the Lions, after a fight for the loose ball, were able to clear them away.

Molloy keeper Gabrielle Bastista and Shaw each finished the match with four saves for their respective team.

Philadelphia heads to Felician for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
