Box Score PHILADELPHIA – James Pollard earned a pair of victories for the Philadelphia University men's tennis team in a 6-3 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in a non-conference match played in the Legacy Youth Tennis Education Center Friday afternoon.
Philadelphia is now 1-2 this fall, while St. Thomas Aquinas stays undefeated at 3-0.
Pollard earned his first point with Christian Valle as they teamed up at No. 3 doubles to defeat Hugo Preussler and Roger Almato, 8-5.
In singles play, Pollard improves to 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Preussler in the No. 5 flight.
Jacobo Atri needed a pair of tiebreakers to earn a hard fought 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (11-9) triumph against James Bruce at No. 4.
Philadelphia closes its fall schedule with a match against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, Oct. 13 on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m.
