Women's soccer shutout by Bridgeport, 3-0

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of the University of Bridgeport Monday evening on Knights Field.

The Purple Knights (10-3-2) took a 1-0 on Nicola Worthington's first goal of the season during a scramble in front of the Rams' goal at the 34:19 mark.

In the second half, Bridgeport scored two goals just 1:42 apart. A free kick led to Amanda Moura's sixth goal of 2014 at 78:10. Tabe Rauschenberger found Danielle Puddefoot with the free kick. Puddefoot then lofted a cross into the box that Moura headed into the net.

Puddefoot was the recipient of a Moura through ball for Bridgeport's third goal at 79:52. It was Puddefoot's fifth goal of the year.

Philadelphia (10-6-1) keeper Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) made seven spots. The Purple Knights' Kaitlin Occhipinti stopped one shot for the shutout.

Bridgeport outshot Philadelphia 26-2.

The Rams end the regular season with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 2:30 p.m. on Ravenhill Field.
