Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 decision to host West Chester in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon.
Philadelphia's record is now 6-8 and West Chester goes to 7-7.
Dylan Bhaerman (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington North) and Long Vo (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) picked up the Rams' first point with a 9-8 (7-4) triumph over David Goldenberg and Steve Hlava in the No. 3 doubles match.
Kyle Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingston) earned a 6-0, 6-3 win against Connor Dunn in the No. 1 singles match. Ayman Barakat (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Kharkiv Specialized English School #3) was a winner in the No. 2 match, 6-1, 7-5 over Chaz Irwin. Chris Casamassima (Franklin Square, N.Y./St. Mary's) claimed the team's last point by outlasting Patrick McGinley, 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-8) in No. 5 singles action.
Philadelphia returns home to take on Chestnut Hill in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Friday, April 5 at 3:30 p.m.
