LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Forward Kristen Ferguson (so. Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield) scored in the 81st minute to give the Philadelphia University women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Georgian Court in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Wednesday afternoon.

With the victory the Lady Rams improve their overall record to 3-2-0 and 3-0-0 in the CACC. Philadelphia also extends its winning streak to three. Georgian Court is now 2-2-1 and 1-1-0 in conference play.

Ferguson broke the deadlock after firing off a shot that beat Lions keeper Casey O'Connor and ricocheted off of the left post into the goal. Midfielder Jessica Stec (sr. Pleasant Valley, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) earned an assist on Ferguson's first goal of the season.

Kelli Kowalewski (sr. Shamong, N.J./Seneca) stopped the only shot Georgian Court took in the match to help Philadelphia record its third consecutive clean sheet. It was Kowalewski's first solo shut out of 2012.

O'Connor made two saves for the Lions. Philadelphia outshot Georgian Court 7-1, including a 4-0 margin in the second half.

The Lady Rams return home to Ravenhill Field to take on Post in a CACC match on Saturday, Sept. 15 at noon.
