Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Attacks Emily Ray and Taylor Peltzer scored six goals each; however, Georgian Court outscored the Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team, 26-20, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Thursday afternoon.
The 46 combined goals is the highest total in a match involving the Lady Rams (5-6, 4-3 CACC). The previous high was 40, which came on April 23, 2006 when Lock Haven defeated Philadelphia 22-18.
After netting six goals, Ray is now six goals away from reaching the 100-goal plateau. Midfielder Caribeth Shappell recorded four goals and two assists to move within seven goals of 100 and 15 points from 200 in her career. Shappell also had seven draw controls.
Peltzer finished the game with eight points and moved into second place on the Philadelphia University all-time points list with 214.
Olivia Rutnno scored a game-high nine goals for the Lions (8-2, 7-1 CACC). Samantha Shaw finished the game with 11 points (three goals, eight assists), while Stephanie Gallo had nine points (five goals, four assists) and 10 draw controls.
Georgian Court's Amanda Cathcart stopped 17 shots, while Philadelphia's Ellen Wright had eight saves. The Lady Rams outshot the Lions, 45-38.
Philadelphia is off until Friday, April 13 when St. Thomas Aquinas visits Ravenhill Field for a 4 p.m. match.
