Singles matches do in Rams in 5-4 loss to Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team won all three doubles matches; however, fell to Chestnut Hill, 5-4, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Wednesday afternoon.

Philadelphia (8-11, 3-2 CACC) came out strong by sweeping the doubles matches. Kyle Burke and Ryan Christopher earned a tough point, needing a tiebreak to win the No. 2 match over Mike Humes and Manuel Ceniceros, 9-8 (10-8).

Adrian Torroella-Cruz and Manoli Segouros took the No. 1 match, 8-3. In the No. 3 match, Nail Rachidi and Eric Guerrero were victorious by an 8-2 score.

In singles action Christopher was the lone winner for the Rams, 6-4, 6-2, over Julius Tyman in the No. 4 flight.

Philadelphia closes out the regular season against visiting Post Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. Before the match, seniors Torroella-Cruz, Sgouros, Christopher and Guerrero will be honored.
