EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team picked up its 10th win of the season after defeating host East Stroudsburg, 7-2, in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Rams (10-7) took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches. The No. 1 tandem of Stephanie Reinke and Sayre Limburg defeated Amanda Kaufman and Allison Bean, 8-1. Brittany Villa and Elizabeth Verbits were 8-2 winners over Rabecca Lausch and Beth Longenhagen in the No. 2 flight.
In singles play, Villa, Reinke, Verbits were winners in their matches. Reinke needed a tiebreak to pick up the win over Lausch in the No. 3 match, 6-1, 3-6, 10-3. Olivia Amato was a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Belinda Nguyen in No. 5. The final point came from the No. 6 match where Magill Kurts took home a 6-1, 7-6 win over Allison Schafer.
Philadelphia's next match is Saturday, March 31 against Division II Norfolk State at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center starting at 11 a.m.
