Lady Rams cruise to 24-3 victory over Post in conference opener

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play in a big way on Sunday with a 24-3 win over Post University on Ravenhill Field.

Midfielder Kalin Hodel had an eight-point day (six goals, two assists), including a first-half hat-trick to help the Lady Rams (1-1, 1-0 CACC) get out to a 14-0 halftime lead.
Attack Taylor Peltzer (five goals, two assists) and midfielder Carli DiCioccio (one goal, six assists) both recorded seven points each. DiCioccio added a game-high five draw controls.
Attack Caribeth Shappell tallied six points (four goals, two assists), while attacks Emily Ray (four goals) and Nicole Lijana (one goal, three assists) had four points.
Ellen Wright earned the win in goal after stopping three of the four shots she faced in 33:31 of work. Kristen Moran had one save.
Midfielders Alanna Bauche and Morgan Kanavy, and attack Meghan Diggett, scored the Post (1-2, 0-1 CACC) goals. Eryka Baez turned aside 14 shots.
Philadelphia owned a 45-10 shot advantage.
Philadelphia takes on Chestnut Hill College in a CACC match-up on Thursday, March 15 on Ravenhill Field at 3 p.m.
