Lady Rams end regular season with 78-49 loss at Holy Family

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's basketball team closed out its 2011-12 regular season with a 78-49 loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Holy Family Tuesday night in the Campus Center.

The Lady Rams (20-8, 14-5 CACC) will be the third seed from the southern division in the CACC Tournament. Philadelphia begins the tournament with a road trip to Caldwell, the north's second seed, on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Newman Center. In their only meeting of the season, Philadelphia came from behind to defeated the Cougars 83-80 at Caldwell.

Guard Stephanie Agger led the Lady Rams with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Center Christine Wooding's 13-point effort allowed her to crack the top-10 on the Philadelphia University all-time scoring list. She is now 10th with 1,292 career points. Wooding also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked six shots. Guard Jaclyn Panichi added a career-high eight points.

Erin Mann led the Tigers (21-7, 17-2 CACC) with a game-high 21 points. Ana Cruz added 14 points, while Kelly Brady netted 12.

Holy Family shot 41.2 percent (32-of-76) from the field, while Philadelphia connected on 34.0 percent (16-of-47) of its attempts. The Tigers outrebounded the Lady Rams, 50-28.
