PhilaU Thumps Holy Family 18-15 on Senior Day

Philadelphia, PA- On a rainy senior day, the Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team (8-6, 8-2 CACC) took down the visiting Holy Family University Tigers (7-9, 6-6  CACC) 18-15 on the turf field at Penn Charter.

PhilaU senior midfielder Jennifer Sica had herself a day, racking up five goals and an assist, while PhilaU freshman attacker Emily Ray tallied a team-high seven points (four goals, three assists).

In the high scoring affair, the Rams started regulation on a 4-0 tear, helped by two from Sica.  HFU's Gina Mansi got the Tigers on the board with their first goal at 23:09, as she would go on to score six total on the day.

PhilaU led 9-7 at the break after two from HFU's Jennifer James put the Tigers as close as they'd been all half.

In the second stanza, PhilaU junior midfielder Kalin Hodel would notch four of her seven points, scoring at 14:28 to give PhilaU a 13-11 lead.  HFU tied it at 15's at 4:16, but three PhilaU goals would finish out the home win, including a final touch for Sica. 

PhilaU rookie keeper Cory Lombardo had 12 saves in the win, while HFU's Marissa Lawson totaled 11 stops in the contest.

Next up for the Rams will be a Monday (4/25) away match at Dominican at 4 p.m. before their final home game on Tuesday (4/26) vs. Wilmington at 4:30 p.m.
