Box Score

Philadelphia, PA- The #7 NCAA east-ranked Philadelphia University men's tennis team (17-6, 5-1 CACC) closed their CACC Championship series with a fall to #1 seed Concordia College (21-2, 6-0 CACC) Thursday in a windy match on the campus of Chestnut Hill College.

The Rams put up a hard fight in doubles, seeing games go to each PhilaU pair. CC claimed each matchup. #2 sophomore Kyle Burke and junior Ryan Christopher battled their opponents to 8-4 while #1 junior Adrian Torroella-Cruz and his partner junior Manoli Sgouros held on to 8-2.

PhilaU fell behind early in singles with the #1 and #5 slots going to CC for the final score of 5-0.

For their outstanding performances this season, Burke and Torrella-Cruz were each honored by the conference by being named to the All-CACC Men's Tennis Second Team. Sgouros also received a nod with a CACC Honorable Mention.

The Rams await next to see the final rankings of the East Regional Conference in men's tennis. The top seven ranking teams will advance to the East Regionals, to be held in early May.
