Ray Scores Five in Women's Lax 18-15 Win

Philadelphia, PA- PhilaU freshman attack Emily Ray notched five goals in leading the Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team (2-3, 2-0 CACC) to an 18-15 road win at Holy Family University (2-6, 1-3 CACC) on Saturday afternoon.

A tight first half had PhilaU leading 3-1 on two goals from junior attack Taylor Peltzer.  Peltzer totaled four goals in the contest.  HFU, led by Jennifer James with six scores, scored four in the first half alone in keeping her squad up as they held a 7-6 edge going into the half. 

In the second half, HFU went on a 3-0 run, but the Rams responded with a 6-0 spree of their own.  PhilaU junior midfielder Kalin Hodel gave the Rams the lead for good at 18:25 to make it 11-10.  PhilaU would never look back as Hodel scored three goals on the day. 

In goal, PhilaU rookie keeper Cory Lombardo got the win with nine saves in 60 minutes of work.  HFU's Melissa Jenkins took the loss with seven saves on the day.

Next up for the Rams will be a make-up contest on Monday (3/28) vs. Chestnut Hill College at home at 4 p.m. on Ravenhill Field.
