Women's Lacrosse Downed 20-3 at Molloy

Molloy, NY- The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team (1-3, 1-0 CACC) fell 20-3 at Molloy College (4-1) on Sunday afternoon.   

PhilaU was led by junior attack Taylor Peltzer, who notched two goals.  Peltzer's first came just a minute and a half into regulation at 28:32 and then shortly after she notched her second at 26:51 to give the Rams a brief 2-1 lead, assisted by junior midfielder Caribeth Shappell.

From that point, MC went on a 18-0 run until 3:34 remaining in the second half when rookie midfielder Melissa Styer notched her goal.  MC added one more tick to make the final 20-3. 

In goal, PhilaU rookies Corey Lombardo (13 saves) worked for 54 minutes and Maggie McCanney (1 save) finished the final six minutes for the Rams. 

The Rams host their home-opener on Wednesday (3/23) at 3 p.m. vs. Chestnut Hill College.
