Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's basketball team (13-11, 9-8 CACC) topped visiting Post University (8-16, 6-11 CACC) 84-54 Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Athletic Center. Junior center Christine Wooding led all scorers with 24 points while pulling 11 boards.
Field goal shooting (PhilaU's 46% to Post's 32%) and turnovers (PhilaU's 7 to Post's 16) were keys to the game. The Rams shot 22% from three point range while Post held 39%.
The Rams grabbed an early lead in the first stanza and quickly brought it to double digits with a jumper from senior forward Kate Brennan at 11:30. Brennan contributed 14 points and seven boards.
The Rams were up 43-17 at the half.
The Rams led by as much as 34 from a layup by sophomore forward Kristen Blye at 2:39 in the second stanza. Blye had 11 points in the match while junior guard Stephanie Agger added 17 points.
The Rams hit the road for the rest of the 2010-11 regular season. Their next stop will be at Goldey-Beacom University for a CACC matchup on Wednesday (2/23) at 6:00 p.m.
