Box Score

Rutherford, NJ- The Philadelphia University Rams (7-4, 3-2 CACC) dropped an 86-81 overtime heartbreaker against the Felician College Falcons (9-3, 3-2 CACC) at Job Gym on Saturday afternoon.  The Rams were led by junior forward Christine Wooding's 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.

The game's high-scorer was Quay Baskerville who led all scorers with 29 points and 18 boards.

PhilaU started off on an 11-0 run in the first half, but FC's Baskerville helped FC take their first lead of the game 18-16 as Ashley Morris hit two free throws.  Morris had four points and five boards on the day.  The Rams were held scoreless for over five minutes at 30-18 and trailed 39-22 at the half.

In the second stanza, PhilaU cut the lead to 53-41 at 11:43, but a bucket from FC's Jacquet Saunders at 10:22 kept the Falcons up 57-43.  Saunders had 15 for the Falcons.

The Rams got within single digits at 64-61 with four minutes to go.  With 1:10 remaining, senior forward Kate Brennan nailed a trey to make it 71-67 and on the ensuing play Wooding swooshed two at the line as the Rams trailed by just two 71-69.  Brennan contributed 20 points (four three's) and six rebounds on the day.

In the final seconds of regulation, senior guard Taylor Magnus put an Agger miss up for the tying basket to send the game into OT locked at 71-71.  Magnus notched a season-high 12 points and added three rebounds.

In extra time, FC's Destiny Barnette would score seven points in the OT to run the Falcons ahead 82-76 with under a minute remaining.  PhilaU's Magnus hit another big shot, a trey at 2:34 and Brennan cashed in on another bucket with 35 seconds to go but that would be it for PhilaU as they fell 86-81 in the conference tussle.

Next up will be a Tuesday (1/11) date at city rival Holy Family University at 6 p.m., where PhilaU Coach Tom Shirley will get another opportunity to reach his 600th win.
