Rockville Centre, NY- In a game where the
weather mimicked the ominous ending, the Philadelphia University
women's soccer team (2-2-3, 2-0 CACC) fell 3-2 to Molloy
College (2-4-1) in a game that ended early due to thunder and
rain.
PhilaU goals were scored by a pair of senior midfielders
Erin Walter and Sara Redka.
The Rams fell behind 1-0 early in the second half on a Nicole
Valentine goal at 47:36. PhilaU tied the match on
Walter's header at 55:27 on a cross from freshman defender
Brittany MacDonald.
PhilaU pulled ahead 2-1 on Redka's tip in from eight yards
out just one minute later, but MC came back to knock a penalty kick
into the net in the 61st minute and then added the
game-winner at 64:15 from Ashley Kilcommons.
The game was called in the 74th minute due to
inclement weather.
PhilaU sophomore goalie Kelli Kowalewski and MC
keeper Tricia Zarro each had six saves on the night.
The team returns to action on Saturday (9/25) when they host
Felician College at Ravenhill Field for a 2:30 p.m. start.
