Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's lacrosse team (5-3, 5-0 CACC) got seven points from
senior midfielder Kathleen Maurer (Rochester, NY/
Our Lady of Mercy) in a 20-2 'Senior Day' victory over
the visiting Post University Eagles (0-8, 0-6 CACC).
Maurer recorded three goals and four assists on the day.
PhilaU junior attacker Kelly Dallas (Cherry
Hill, NJ/ Cherry Hill East) scored the Lady Ram's first goal
just 20 seconds into action, and another just 30 ticks later.
Dallas had five points on the day (4 G, 1 A).
Sophomore midfielder Caribeth Shappell
(Lancaster, PA/ Cocalico) notched the game-winner at 26:35 on a
free position shot to make it 3-0 for the home squad.
Shappell finished with two points.
It was all PhilaU for the remainder of the contest, as the team
sprinted out to a 14-0 halftime lead.
Post scored the final two goals of the contest to break a PhilaU
shutout, as Kaitlin Montgomery and Kathryn Price each picked up a
score.
PhilaU senior goalie Kat Sullivan (Mt. Laurel,
NJ/ Lenape) picked up six saves on the day, while Post's
Michelle Chadwick made five stops.
The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday (4/6) as they host St.
Thomas Aquinas at Ravenhill Field at 4:30 p.m.
