Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (7-9, 6-5 CACC) fell in their fourth straight contest,
this time a 14-12 loss at Holy Family University (9-6, 8-4 CACC) on
Saturday afternoon on the road. PhilaU was led by senior
midfielder Kathleen Maurer (Rochester, NY/ Our Lady of Mercy) who
had five points on the day.
HFU started the first period on a 4-0 run and never looked back,
as the Lady Rams trailed 10-7 at the break. Sophomore
midfielder Kalin Hodel (West Chester, OH/ Lakota West) tallied one
of her three goals in that stanza.
The second period was much of the same as PhilaU tried to
scratch their way back, getting as close as one goal twice –
on a Hodel goal at 15:54 to make it 12-11 and at 8:13 on a Maurer
score to make it 13-12, but that would be as close as the Lady Rams
could get.
PhilaU senior goalie Kat Sullivan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/ Lenape) made
14 saves in the loss, while HFU keeper Melissa Jenkins had 15 saves
for her squad.
The Lady Ram's final regular season contest will be on
Tuesday (4/27) at home vs. Georgian Court University at 5:00
p.m.
