Lakewood, NJ- The Philadelphia University Lady
Rams (7-6, 6-3) fell in a re-match of last year's Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game 20-8 to the
Georgian Court University Lions (13-1, 10-0 CACC) on Saturday
afternoon.
PhilaU trailed 1-0 as GCU's Lauren Conaty scored just 2:30
minutes into action. Conaty led all scorers with six goals on
the day. The Lady Rams evened it 1-1 as sophomore midfielder
Kalin Hodel (West Chester, OH/ Lakota West)
notched her first goal of the game at the 20:00 mark.
GCU then went on a 7-3 run to close out the first half leading
8-4, as sophomore attacker Taylor Peltzer
(Holland, PA/ Archbishop Wood) and junior midfielder Jenny
Sica (Long Valley, NJ/ West Morris Catholic) each added
one of their two goals in the half.
Sica scored again in the second half, but the Lions bombarded
PhilaU senior goalie Kat Sullivan (Mt. Laurel, NJ/
Lenape) with shots as they outscored the Lady Rams 11-4 in the
second half. Sullivan had 17 saves in the loss.
PhilaU returns to action on Monday (4/19) when they travel to
Kutztown University for a non-conference 4:00 p.m. match.
