Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Lady Rams (15-12, 13-6 CACC) cruised to a 73-41 victory over visiting Nyack College (17-11, 12-6 CACC) on Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Athletic Center.  PhilaU senior center Jessica Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) paced the Lady Rams on Senior Day with 28 points and 15 rebounds.

With this conference victory the Lady Rams secured a spot in the upcoming Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) postseason tournament.

Before the game, senior players, Romano and Nina Brascetta (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), along with team manager Kate Dispenza were honored on Senior Day in their last home game as Lady Rams.

Also, on the afternoon PhilaU's Brascetta passed All-American and 94' National Player of the Year Tammy Greene in the Lady Rams' record books for assists (411) to move into fourth all-time.

The Lady Rams jumped out of the gates firing as they took a 19 point lead into the half (33-14). In that first stanza, Romano scored 17 of her 28 points and also recorded 9 of her 15 rebounds to distance the Lady Rams from the Lady Warriors.  The Warriors shot just 15% percent from the floor (5-33).

In the second half the Lady Rams continued to fire on all cylinders as the Warriors poor shooting (26.7% for the game) prevented them from getting back into the contest.  Outscoring the Warriors 40-27 in the second stanza, the Lady Rams put the icing on the cake as they went on to win by a score of 73-41.

The Lady Rams received solid performances from juniors Kate Brennan (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) who chipped in with 15 points and six boards and Ashley Gaskins (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) 12 points, six boards.

Nyack College was led by Shelly Yount's team-high eight points on the afternoon.
