Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia Lady Rams
(6-7, 4-1 CACC) suffered their first Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference (CACC) loss in a 95-61 pounding by the Felician College
Falcons (8-3, 3-1 CACC) on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams
got a team-high 13 points from senior center Jessica
Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham), along with seven
rebounds.
FC was led by Quay Baskerville's game-high double-double (20
points, 10 rebounds).
The Lady Rams started off slowly, watching FC take a commanding
25-5 lead to begin the first half. The Lady Rams shot just
29% from the floor in the first stanza (29.2% for the game), while
the Falcons held a 59% field goal tally.
A bright spot for PhilaU was four starters in double-digits,
including freshman forward Taylor Peltzer
(Holland, PA/ Archbishop Wood) who nailed a trey at the 8:01 mark
in the first half to cut the FC lead to 29-7. Pelzter had 12
points and a steal on the night.
The Falcons led 50-25 at the break.
In the second half, FC kept the pressure on from downtown, as
Janelle Biamonte and Baskerville each notched a three-pointer to
push their lead to 56-26 at 18:24.
PhilaU senior forward Kate Brennan (Stratford,
NJ/ Sterling) swooshed a three at 18:01 to give the Lady Rams some
fire, but FC continued to dominate the floor, leading by a
game-high 40 points (88-48) at the 3:36 mark. Brennan
contributed 12 points and four steals for PhilaU.
PhilaU sophomore forward Christine Wooding
(Northfield, NJ/ Mainland) chipped in six points in the final
minute of play and finished with 10 points for the Lady Rams, but
FC was too much as they pulled out the 95-61 win.
PhilaU will get nearly two weeks off, taking on Holy Family
University on Thursday (1/21) at 6 p.m. in the Gallagher Athletic
Center in their next contest.
