Philadelphia, PA- Freshman forward
Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) netted two goals
to lead the Philadelphia University women's soccer team (7-1-3, 5-0
CACC) to a 3-0 conference win over the visiting Wilmington
University Wildcats (5-4, 4-2 CACC) on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Rams doubled the Wildcats on shots, holding a 22-11
edge.
Sileo scored her first goal in the 26th minute of the
first half, assisted by senior defender Cari
Schenkel (Pitman, NJ/ Pitman). She nudged her second
one in at the 56th minute of the second half, assisted
by fellow freshman midfielder Melissa Copeland
(Islip Terrace, NY/ East Islip).
Copeland added the final touch in the contest with her second
goal of the year, with just five minutes remaining in regulation to
clinch the 3-0 win.
PhilaU freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski
(Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had three saves in 71 minutes, while
sophomore keeper Rebecca Della Peruta (Hammonton,
NJ/ Hammonton) also made three stops in 18 minutes of work.
WU keeper Amanda Walters had 13 saves in the loss.
The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday (10/3) in their
homecoming match vs. Bloomfield College at 12:00 p.m. at Ravenhill
Field.
