West Chester, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's tennis team (4-2, 1-0 CACC) dropped just their second match
of the season in a 6-3 loss at West Chester (4-1) on Wednesday
afternoon.
The Lady Rams scored "W's" in singles from #4 sophomore
Brittany Villa (Logan, NJ/ Kingsway) def. WCU's
Stephanie Ritchey 6-0, 6-2 and #5 freshman Stephanie
Miller (Fleetwood, PA/ Fleetwood) def. Kara Shumock 6-3,
6-0.
In doubles, the #1 team of juniors Daniela
Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/ Colegio Menor) and
Stephanie Reinke (St. James, NY/ Smithtown)
defeated WCU's Counts/Fetter 8-6 for the Lady Ram's final
point.
PhilaU returns to action on Thursday (9/24) at new Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member Concordia College at
3:00 p.m.
