Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
softball team (17-18, 8-10 CACC) dropped two home games by
identical 4-1 scores to the Post University Eagles (21-15, 9-9
CACC) on Sunday afternoon. Freshman infielder Katie
Renner (Berryville, VA/ Brunswick) went 4-6 at the plate
to lead the Lady Rams.
Renner scored PhilaU's only run in game one on a failed pickoff
attempt in the fourth inning. Freshman pitcher Ali
Schmidt (Cordova, MD/ Easton) took the loss as she struck
out eight and allowed four earned runs.
In the second game, Renner came through again to single in
junior Kristyn Loughery (Phoenixville, PA/
Phoenixville) for the team's only score. Post came up with a
run in the third inning to tie it and then one run in each of the
final three innings to secure the 4-1 victory.
PhilaU freshman pitcher Amber Beauchemin
(Galloway, NJ/ Absegami) took the loss in seven innings
pitched.
The Lady Rams return to action on Wednesday (4/22) at
Goldey-Beacom College for a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader.
