Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (11-4-3, 9-2 CACC) got a solid 6-0 win over the Concordia
College Clippers (3-11, 2-8 CACC) on Monday afternoon.
Freshman midfielder Melissa Copeland (Islip
Terrace, NY/ East Islip) led the way with a hat trick.
Sophomore forward Gabrielle Haden (Freehold,
NJ/ Colts Neck) scored in the 32nd minute (the eventual
game-winner to put PhilaU up 1-0, and freshman forward
Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) added another goal
less than 10 minutes later to make it 2-0.
Copeland got hot in the 24th minute, going on to
score two goals to rally the Lady Rams to 4-0.
In the second half, freshman defender Chelsea
Riedell (Gilbert, AZ/ Highland) notched the first goal of
her young collegiate career off a corner kick with 17 minutes
remaining to give PhilaU a 5-0 lead.
Copeland added her final goal with less than two minutes left to
make the final 6-0 PhilaU.
PhilaU freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski
(Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had one save, while sophomore keeper
Rebecca Della Peruta (Hammonton, NJ/ Hammonton)
made two stops for the Lady Rams. CC keeper Jen Stefankiewicz
had seven saves for the Clippers.
The Lady Rams final home game of the regular season will be at
home on Thursday (10/28) for Senior Day vs. Holy Family at 3:30
p.m.
