The Philadelphia University men's tennis team improved their
season mark to 9-7 by defeating Millersville University 7-2
in matches contested at the Main Campus Courts.
Head Coach Marty Gilbert's Rams, currently ranked number eight in the NCAA Division II East
Region, swept through the opening doubles portion of the
event, but then the visiting Marauders rallied in the singles
competition.
At one point, Millersville was ahead in five of the six singles
matches, but freshman Tom McAvoy (Phoenixville,
Pa./Phoenixville; pictured) clinched the fifth and deciding point
for the Rams with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 victory at number five

Up next for the Rams will be a road contest at Chestnut Hill
