The Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team earned their
third straight triumph to improve to 7-2 overall on the
season in today's 17-8 win over visiting Wilmington University.
Senior midfielders Maggie Bornhorst (Ellicott
City, Md./Centennial; pictured below) and Brooke
Woodland (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove; shown right) each
scored three goals as the Lady Rams built a commanding 10-3
halftime advantage by netting five of the first six tallies of the
contest.
Sophomore goalies Kelly Staerk (Edgewater Park,
N.J./Holy Cross) and Katherine Sullivan (Mt.
Laurel, N.J./Lenape) combined to make five saves each as the
Philadelphia University defense held its opponent under 10 goals
for the sixth time in nine games this season.
The Lady Rams return to action at Chestnut Hill College on
Tuesday, April 15 at 4:00 p.m.
