The Philadelphia University Women's Soccer team earned a
1-0 win today at Dominican College in Orangeburg,
N.Y. The victory brings the Lady Rams' record to 5-3, with an
unblemished 3-0 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
(CACC) play.
Junior Christy Bauckman (shown below) scored the
game's only goal just 90 seconds into the match; putting home a
ball that ricocheted off the cross bar after a shot from senior
Brianna Reinford. The Lady Chargers fall to
3-7 for the season and 1-2 in the CACC.
Once again, the consistently-stout Lady Ram defense succeeded in
limiting their opponents' scoring opportunities. They held
Dominican to just seven shots in the contest; four of which in the
first half were saved by junior goalkeeper Sara
Hall, who recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
Hall has notched shutouts in all three of Philadelphia University's
CACC victories.
True freshman Natalie Vespe made her first career
start for the Lady Rams, who finished the game with 11 shots as a
team-six of them onto the goal of Lady Charger netminder
Rosa Centurion, who had five saves in the
match. Head Coach George Dunbar's team looks
to remain unbeaten in the conference this Tuesday, September 25th
when the Lady Rams make the short trip to CACC-newcomer Chestnut
Hill College. Kickoff time for the game against the Griffins
is 4:00 p.m.
