In other postseason news, Head Coach George
Dunbar's second-seeded Lady Rams' soccer team dropped a
heartbreaking 1-0 decision to rival and top-seeded Holy
Family in the championship game of the CACC Tournament.
Tigers' senior Kaitlin Gavaghan scored the only
goal of the match in the 36th minute. From there, the Lady
Rams pestered the tournament's Most Valuable Player, Holy Family
senior goaltender Kelly McGrogan, outshooting the
Tigers 20-11 in the contest, including Melissa
McMullen's attempt that went off the crossbar in the 62nd
minute. But McGrogan tallied seven saves to keep Philadelphia
University off the scoreboard.
Three Lady Rams garnered All-Tournament accolades:
senior co-captain defender Michele Petruzzi
(right), senior midfielder Melissa McMullen and
freshman midfielder Sara Redka. The complete

The Tigers earned the CACC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA
Division II Tournament, while the Lady Rams maintain a slight
chance for an at-large bid in the New England Region. The are
already eligible for Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
playoff action. The NCAA and ECAC committees will announce
the fields for their women's soccer tournaments by Monday and
Tuesday, respectively.
