Women's Soccer Drops Close Matchup Against #11 Saint Rose
PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team jumped ahead at the 57 minute mark, but two goals by 11th ranked The College of Saint Rose dropped the Rams 3-2 against the Golden Knights in a non-conference matchup at Ravenhill Field on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jefferson got on the board early with a goal at the 12
th minute mark by
Kyra Lesko, but Saint Rose answered back 14 seconds later to keep the game tied at 1-1 to the end of the first half.
The Rams got ahead in the second half as
Devin Sullivan got a pass from Lesko and hit it in the corner of the net at the 57
th minute mark to push Jefferson ahead 2-1.
The Golden Knights would get back on the board as a free kick from a card would allow Mia Klammer to receive a pass from Elina Seppala and make her shot to the left corner of the goal to tie the game at 2-2 at the 70
th minute mark. Klammer would give the Golden Knights the lead at the 74
th minute mark to give Saint Rose the 3-2 lead. Saint Rose would lead the shot department 15-11.
