Women's Soccer Ups Win Streak To Four Versus Alliance

PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer team (10-3-1, 8-0-1 CACC) won its fourth straight game with a 2-0 victory over Alliance (2-10-1, 1-7-1 CACC) at Ravenhill Field on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The two teams went back and forth throughout the majority of the opening half, with neither side able to crack the opposing defense. The first shot did not come until the 28th minute and it was off target by the Rams.

Jefferson had another chance off the mark in the 39th minute before capitalizing on an Alliance miscue for the first goal of the afternoon. The Alliance goalkeeper tried to kick the ball down the field but shanked it right to Avery Nogami, who did not miss the open net for a 1-0 Rams' advantage in the 40th minute. Alliance finally recorded a shot in the final minutes of the first period but Allie Bone came up with the save for Jefferson.

Shots came more frequently in the second half, with the Rams controlling the category by an 11-2 count. Jefferson wore down the Alliance back line and was able to register an insurance goal in the 86th minute. Mia Ferrara connected with Devin Sullivan and Sullivan beat the goalie straight on in the box for the 2-0 lead.
