Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to visiting Caldwell in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Thursday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.
Philadelphia is now 7-2-1 overall and 6-1-0 against the CACC, while Caldwell goes to 6-4-2 overall, 5-1-1 in CACC play.
After playing a scoreless first half, the Cougars got on the board 4:14 into the second half. Shelagh Kerrisk took a free kick from 25 yards out that bent across the goalmouth and ricocheted off the left post and into the net. It was Kerrisk's second goal of the season.
Philadelphia threaten the Caldwell lead numerous times, attempting 13 shots after the goal, but couldn't push one by keeper Robin Franchi, who finished the match with five saves.
Rams' keeper Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) made seven stops, tying a season high.
Philadelphia owned a 17-12 shot advantage.
Philadelphia hosts Post for a Homecoming Day clash on Saturday, Oct. 11 at noon on Ravenhill Field.
