Early goal sinks Lady Rams in 1-0 loss to Bloomfield in CACC finale

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team ended its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a tough 1-0 loss to host Bloomfield Saturday morning.

Philadelphia goes to 11-5-0 overall and concludes conference play with a 10-2-0 mark. The Lady Rams are guaranteed a home match in the first round of the CACC Championship Tournament. Philadelphia can win the regular season title with a Wilmington loss or tie in of its final two conference games, and a Caldwell loss in one of its final three remaining CACC matches.

On this day, the Lady Ram offense peppered Bloomfield (4-9-0, 3-8-0 CACC) keeper Sashagay Spence with 12 shots on goal, nine in the second half, but couldn't get anything through.

Bloomfield's Victoria Gemma scored the only goal on the match's first shot of the contest. Michelle Cadena assisted on the seventh-minute goal.

Kelli Kowalewski made four saves in goal for Philadelphia.

The Lady Rams finished the match with a 19-5 shot advantage.

Philadelphia heads Mercy for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
