Box Score PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Four different Lady Rams scored as the Philadelphia University women's soccer team defeated visiting Bloomfield College, 4-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.
Philadelphia, ranked 10th in the latest NCAA Division II East Region, completes a perfect regular season against the CACC with a 12-0-0 record. Overall the Lady Rams are 14-1-2. Philadelphia will be the top seed in the upcoming CACC championship tournament, which will begin Tuesday, Nov. 1
Melissa Copeland, Trisha Sileo, Dana Rokoszak and Janine Cascio all found the back of the net for the Lady Rams. Carla Chimelewski tallied three assists, while Gabrielle Haden and Copeland had one assist each.
In net Philadelphia's Rebecca Della Peruta made two saves to record her first shutout for the season. Katrina Guevara stood tall in the Bloomfield (2-13, 0-9 CACC) net by stopping five shots. The Lady Rams owned a 17-6 shot advantage, including a 10-1 first-half margin.
Copeland opened the scoring at the 9:48 mark with a breakaway goal. Chmielewski and Haden sprung Copeland with a pair of quick passes. Sileo and Rokoszak added to the lead with goals in the 23rd and 36th minutes, respectively. Copeland assisted on Sileo's goal and Chmielewski was credited with the assist on Rokoszak's goal. Cascio closed out the scoring in the 84th minute with a low shot into the left side of the net. Chmielewski found Cascio to pick up her third assist.
Philadelphia closes out the regular season with a non-conference match against visiting West Chester University Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.
