Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's soccer team (2-1-3, 2-0 CACC) dominated the Caldwell
College Cougars (1-3, 1-2 CACC) in a 1-0 double-overtime win at
Ravenhill Field on Saturday afternoon. The winning goal for
PhilaU was an own goal, scored by a CC defender.
PhilaU held a large advantage on offense, outshooting the
Cougars 28-4 in regulation.
After a scoreless first extra stanza, the Rams got lucky with an
own goal by CC defender Burcu Kulaksiz just 1:27 into the period to
give PhilaU the 1-0 golden-goal win.
PhilaU sophomore goalie Kellie Kowalewski had
one save, while CC's Lauren Hoenig made 15 stops for the Cougs.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday (9/22) at Molloy College
in a 6:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
