freshman forward Trisha Sileo (Islip, NYU/ Islip)
notched her first collegiate game-winning goal in the
56th minute of regulation to give the Lady Rams (2-1,
1-0 CACC) a 1-0 win over Chestnut Hill College (1-2, 0-1 CACC) on
Wednesday evening.
Fellow freshman midfielder Melissa Copeland
(Islip Terrace, NY/ East Islip) was credited with the assist on a
header to Sileo.
The Lady Rams outshot the Griffins 20-5.
In goal, freshman Kelli Kowalewski (Shamong,
NJ/ Seneca) got the start, and sophomore keeper Rebecca
Della Peruta (Haddon Heights, NJ/ Haddon Heights) took
over in the second half.
CHC goalie Jessica Veazey had 10 saves in 90 minutes.
The Lady Rams return to Ravenhill Field on Friday (9/4) for a
4:30 p.m. date with the University of Bridgeport.
