Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Lady Rams (5-1-2, 3-0 CACC) erupted for six goals in a 6-1 win over
the visiting Nyack College Lady Warriors (1-5, 0-4 CACC) on
Saturday afternoon. Two sophomores- Gabrielle
Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts Neck) and Dana
Rokoszak (Hillsborough, NJ/ Hillsborough) caught fire to
score two goals each.
Haden scored the first of her two goals just five minutes into
regulation, and dropped her second score just six minutes later-
both were assisted by freshman forward Trisha
Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip).
In the second half, PhilaU junior midfielder/forward
Sara Redka (Williamsport, PA/ Williamsport) scored
on a penalty kick to give the Lady Rams a 3-0 lead. But NC's
Alisha Smith ruined the shutout with the Lady Warrior's only goal
at 62:38.
The Lady Rams then went on a three-goal binge, with Sileo
scoring her goal (assisted by Haden) at 80:03 and then Rokoszak's
two scores just minutes later to make the final 6-1.
In goal for PhilaU, freshman Kelli Kowalewski
(Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) and sophomore Rebecca Della
Peruta (Haddon Heights, NJ/ Haddon Heights) each played a
half. NC keeper Shannon McNeely had 12 saves.
PhilaU returns to action on Wednesday (9/23) in a home contest
vs. West Chester University at 4:30 p.m.
