Millersville, PA- The Philadelphia University
women's soccer team (0-2) scored early but fell 2-1 to the
Millersville University Marauders (1-0) on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder/forward Natalie Vespe (Acto,
NJ/ St. Joseph) scored her first goal of the year and the first for
the Lady Rams.
The game started off at a frantic pace as Millersville scored
just two minutes into regulation. The Lady Rams came charging
back with Vespe's goal a minute later to tie it 1-1.
With the stalemate still standing at halftime, the Marauders
scored early once again in the second half, with the game winner at
47:01.
Senior goalkeeper Sara Hall had one save for
Phila U., and the Lady Rams outshot the Marauders 10-6.
The Lady Rams will host their home-opener next, on Thursday,
September 4th vs. Adelphi at 4:30 p.m.
