The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) today named
its all-star teams for 2007 in women's soccer, and five
Philadelphia University players were honored for their outstanding
regular-season performance. Senior defender Michelle
Petruzzi (right) earned All-Conference accolades for the
third straight season, and it's also her second year in a row on
the First Team. Joining Petruzzi on the 2007 All-CACC First
Team are junior goalkeeper Sara Hall and senior
forward Brianna Reinford. Hall is now the
First Team netminder for a second consecutive season, while
Reinford, the Lady Rams' leading-scorer, was Second Team All-CACC
in 2006. Sophomore defender Cari Schenkel
has been named to Second Team All-Conference, as she appears poised
to continue the stellar backfield tradition established by Petruzzi
for Head Coach George Dunbar's Lady Rams.
Lastly, junior midfielder Rebecca Kennedy picked
up All-Conference Honorable Mention.
While the individual rewards for an excellent regular season are
certainly savored by the Lady Rams, they realize there is plenty of
time to reflect on them once the season officially comes to a
close. With a first-round playoff win over Caldwell College
in the books, they now set their sights on the remainder of the
CACC Tournament, where two more wins would garner the Lady Rams a
second consecutive conference championship and a coveted berth in
the NCAA Tournament.
