NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) will serve as the host institution for the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships, as announced on Thursday by Commissioner Dan Mara. Jefferson will host the championship event on Sunday, Oct. 28, at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
The women's 5k race will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 8k race at 10 a.m. The post-championship awards ceremony will be held immediately following the conclusion of the two races.
Jefferson will host the event in 2018, fresh off the heels of sweeping the men's and women's championship races last fall at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, Del. The Jefferson women have won the last four CACC titles, while the men's side have two of the last four conference championships. The men's victory snapped Wilmington University's string of two-straight league crowns in 2015 and 2016.
The conference championships will be held a couple weeks prior to the NCAA Division II East Region men's and women's championship races in mid-November.
